Genesis
47
Verse
1
Jacob
and his sons, to Egypt they came,
Seeking
refuge, in Pharaoh's name.
Joseph,
his brother, brought them near,
Before
the king, without fear.
Chorus
In
the land of Goshen, they found their place,
With
hope in their hearts, and faith in grace.
In
the land of Pharaoh, they made their stand,
Together
as one, in a foreign land.
Verse
2
Pharaoh
asked, "What is your trade?"
Shepherds
we are, from fathers made.
They
spoke of famine, lands gone dry,
Begged
for a place where they could try.
Bridge
Joseph,
faithful, guiding his kin,
Through
trials and tribulations, they'd begin.
Pharaoh
blessed them, gave them a home,
In
Egypt's embrace, no more to roam.
Verse
3
As
the years passed, the famine spread wide,
Egypt
grew strong, with Joseph by their side.
He
gathered the crops, stored them high,
For
seven years, through darkened sky.
Chorus
In
the land of Goshen, they found their place,
With
hope in their hearts, and faith in grace.
In
the land of Pharaoh, they made their stand,
Together
as one, in a foreign land.
Verse
4
People
sold their lands, their very soul,
For
bread to eat, to keep them whole.
Joseph
gave them seed, and took their land,
Pharaoh's
power, in Joseph's hand.
Bridge
The
priests, their lands remained free,
Protected
by law, a decree.
Joseph's
wisdom, guiding through strife,
Saved
countless souls, preserved life.
Verse
5
Jacob
lived seventeen years more,
In
Egypt's land, his heart still sore.
He
blessed his sons, spoke of days to come,
Of
Israel's future, God's kingdom.
Chorus
In
the land of Goshen, they found their place,
With
hope in their hearts, and faith in grace.
In
the land of Pharaoh, they made their stand,
Together
as one, in a foreign land.
Outro
Joseph’s
love, a beacon bright,
Guided
his family through the night.
In
Egypt's land, they made their stay,
Waiting
for the promised day.
