  The Man Who Said There Was No Maker   There was once a man named Elias who was known throughout his town for his sharp mind. He trusted what he could see, touch, measure, and prove. He did not believe in God. One morning, Elias walked through the countryside and noticed a beautiful house standing beside a hill. Its walls were strong, its windows carefully placed, and its garden was arranged with remarkable order. An old carpenter was sitting outside. Elias pointed toward the house and asked, “Who built that?” “The builder did,” the carpenter replied. Elias smiled. “Of course. A house does not build itself.” They continued walking. Soon they came to a field covered with flowers. Bees moved from one blossom to another, birds sang from the trees, and the morning sun illuminated the whole valley.
