  Revenge in the Bible: What Does God Say About Taking Revenge?   Revenge is a natural human response when we are hurt, betrayed, insulted, or treated unfairly. Our emotions often urge us to "get even" or make the other person feel the same pain we have experienced. However, the Bible presents a very different path. Instead of encouraging retaliation, Scripture consistently teaches believers to trust God's justice, forgive others, and overcome evil with good. This does not mean God ignores injustice. Rather, He calls His people to leave judgment in His hands while living lives marked by mercy, patience, and love.   Lamech: The Man Who Turned Revenge into a Way of Life   The Bible introduces two different men named Lamech. One belonged to the family line of Cain, while the other was a descendant of Seth and the father of Noah. Although they shared the same name, their lives were very different. The Lamech in Cain's family is remembered for his violent speech and growing pride in revenge. The Lamech in Seth's family is remembered as the father of Noah, through whom God preserved humanity.
